I know I haven't talked about The Closer in forever, but it's one of the TV shows nearest and dearest to my heart. It ended this August, and I've been catching up on the last few eps of the series. I just finished 7x17, which was the yearly Provenza and Flynn case and...
Well, they've always been my OTP of the show, my old men OTP, but the show all but made it canon. I just-- there's no other way to interpret this ep. Here, taken from an AIM convo with a friend as I watched it:

Me: Aw, Provenza and Flynn, stop fighting. Although, lol, Provenza, you are the worst at dates. Flynn is a recovering alcoholic, do not invite him to a bar to watch you get drunk. Actual lines: "We could go to the bar." "What's in it for me?" "Watching me get drunk." "..."
Friend: ...
Me: Yeah.
Me: And Flynn's pissy because Provenza's ex-wife keeps calling
Me: I did not realize Flynn knew the ex-wife well enough to call her Liz, and to sympathize with her over her sick dog. And Flynn and Elizabeth are bonding over Provenza being exasperating.
Me: (Awww, Provenza still has feelings for his ex-wife. She was his first wife.)
Me: .........................................................................................
Me: ..........................................................................................
Me: Elizabeth just kissed Flynn on the cheek and said, "If you ever need to vent, we meet up every third Sunday." and when he goes, "We?" she goes, "Louie's ex-wives. We all call you the fifth one."
Me: .... *shrieks* Inviting someone to a bar and having them watch him drink IS Provenza's idea of a date!
Me: His ex-wife just leaned against him as they walked out and said, "Hey, if you want to later, I'll treat you to McClury's, sit at the bar and watch you drink."
Me: I just-- I what.
Me: Does that mean Provenza invited Flynn on a date and Flynn didn't get it? Provenzaaaaaa.
Friend: ....wow
Me: I don't know how else to interpret that
Friend: Neither do I
Me: He even used the same phrase at the beginning of the ep "watch me drink" as Elizabeth did at the end
Friend: And being seen as close enough to Provenza to be invited along
Me: *nods*

So...that happened.
I just-- Flynn was invited to join the Ex-Wives Club. And apparently "watch me drink" is Provenza code for a date.
Well. I...know what I want for Yuletide now. ALL THE PROVENZA/FLYNN FIC. And the Flynn and Elizabeth fic. And the Flynn and the Ex-Wives Club fic. And maybe some Provenza/Flynn/Elizabeth fic.
