Tabletop Games
Jan. 26th, 2022 08:11 amSo thanks to
skygiants talking about You Can Check Out Any Time You Like, a tabletop game inspired by the song Hotel California, I started looking at the Record Collection 2k22, which is a challenge where you make a game based on a song or album. The collection closes on February 1st.
For the last few weeks I've been tinkering on a werewolf tabletop game using an adapted version of Gabe Hicks' Mythic system and inspired by The Mountain Goats' song Wolf Count. It's fourteen pages, with worldbuilding, game mechanics, some important NPCs, a section for the GM, and three arcs in the adventure. I've had a few people looking at it and making suggestions and spotting SPAG errors, and had just intended to post it as a simple PDF without any frills.
Then I showed it to a friend who works in indie publishing, who has published a lot of physical copies of indie tabletop games, and she made some extremely helpful suggestions but also seems to think it could be expand beyond a simple PDF, that I could actually do more with it, illustrations and whatnot.
So now I'm second-guessing myself on what I want to do.
I'd intended to post it to the Record Collection, but obviously I won't have play testers or illustrations before the 1st. And also I wouldn't even know the first place to go looking for play testers! So now I'm spinning in place, haha....
