Hello, Yuletide Writer!

First off, relax, and thank you for participating! I hope you enjoy Yuletide this year.

As you may guess from my requests, I like gen and relationships of any variety (het, femslash, slash, threesomes or moresomes).

Stuff I love includes but is not limited to: found families, epistolary/documentary, friends to lovers, hurt/comfort, pretend couples (that turn into real couples), friends with benefits, people showing their care and concern by feeding the other person, gardening, fix-its, missing scenes, and futurefic.

Stuff I don't want, unless otherwise stated in that particular request, is: infidelity/adultery, character death, and non-con/dub-con.

Below are my requests. I hope one of them works for you and that your Yuletide goes well!

 

 

Westmark [Caroline, Torrens]

“And you, my loving friend. Tell me, could we have been happy?” “Yes. Yes. I am certain of it.” Ugh, this relationship breaks my heart. They spend so many years as devoted friends, and there’s all this potential for more after the king’s death, but they never get a chance to be happy together. I’d love fix-it for them. One idea is post-The Beggar Queen they survive and leave the country and maybe settle down in a town like the one Torrens grew up in, and Torrens sets up a doctor’s office and Caroline can grow a garden and they can live peacefully together with the occasional letter and visit from Mickle and Theo, but I’d be delighted with anything you can come up with. Or if fix-it isn't your thing, something about their friendship before the Westmark series begins, with Torrens and Caroline working to hold the kingdom together after the princess vanishes.

 

Scrooge & Marley (2012) [Jacob Marley, Ebenezer Scrooge]

How much do I love that a gay modern AU adaptation of A Christmas Carol exists? SO MUCH. I would love to see how Marley and Scrooge’s relationship developed, from Marley picking him up at the YMCA to them becoming business partners. I know that Scrooge and Marley don’t have a sexual relationship in the movie, but I’d love to see them having ill-advised hook-ups or Marley pining after Scrooge. If you want to go post-canon, I’d also really enjoy Marley’s ghost witnessing the changes Scrooge has made in his life and maybe paying a ghost visit or two to encourage Scrooge in helping the LGBTQ community further.

 

Two Gentlemen of Verona – William Shakespeare [Silvia, Julia]

I adored Silvia and Julia’s friendship in the play, how Julia is prepared to hate Silvia because Proteus is in love with her, and then overhears Silvia lambasting Proteus for betraying his betrothed and has an “oh no, she’s awesome!” moment. I would love fix-it for this play, whether it’s Silvia and Julia dumping Proteus and Valentine during the last scene and becoming the best of friends or Silvia and Julia falling in love and running off to have crossdressing adventures together.

 

The Thrilling Adventures of Lovelace and Babbage [Ada Lovelace, Charles Babbage]

Give me all the wacky adventures that you have! I love Lovelace and Babbage’s friendship, and would enjoy seeing more of their antics together. Maybe Babbage has to rescue Lovelace from an infatuated poet or Lovelace has to keep a group of musicians away from Babbage. Or maybe Brunel gets them into more shenanigans. Or maybe they encounter another historical figure from that time period! (Here’s wishing Sophie Germain had lived a little bit longer.) I'd be happy with whatever you come up with for these two.

 

Twelfth Night – William Shakespeare [Antonio, Sebastian]

I have seen about four adaptations of Twelfth Night, and Antonio makes me sad every time. He’s so devoted to Sebastian, does so much for him including risking his life and being imprisoned, and ends up alone and sad at the end of the play. If you write them in a relationship, I’d love to see something where he and Sebastian work it out while still respecting Olivia (I always preferred her in a V threesome aka Viola/Olivia and Viola/Orsino anyway). How they do that is totally up to you! If gen and friendship is more your speed, I’d also love something about the time they spent together after Antonio rescues Sebastian from drowning.

 

Leaf by Niggle – J.R.R. Tolkien [Niggle, Parish]

This look at the afterlife is so fascinating to me! I'd love to see more of Niggle and Parish's friendship (or relationship if it develops into more) and how they get to know each other better during their time in Niggle's Parish. Or maybe a fic about one of their disagreements in the early days of building Niggle's Parish. I'd also love pre-canon fic, maybe something about Niggle trying to show Parish his art.
