This is what happens when I get into an angsty/romantic mood. (I found it when looking through my pitiful collection of poetry.)

~~ Requiem for a Glass Heart ~~

Sing the requiem for a glass heart!
Sing for the shattered glass
That embeds its shards into my frame

Brush away the sparkling glass
Hold them up as they glimmer
Dancing rainbows in the sunlight's gaze

Reveal the ruins of a glass heart
The shimmering shards beautiful
Lovely even in the tragedy of their origins

Sing the requiem for a glass heart!
Sing for the shattered glass
That broke at the briefest, amiable glance

Pluck the ruins from my form
Pile the iridescent splinters
Into a multihued pile by my fallen frame

Let the moonlight light them silver
Permit them their charming dance
Allow the moonbeams to caress the pieces

Sing the requiem for a glass heart!
Sing for the shattered glass
That splintered at your smile
