Guess who got out of class 45 minutes early? Yes, that would be me.

Therefore, I am having a quick lunch, then going to the bank and depositing that check Mom's been at me to deposit for weeks now. And then going to the used bookstore I told you about, [livejournal.com profile] blue_raven. Hopefully I'll find some stuff for you. If not, I'm sure I'll find some stuff for me. *shifty eyes, looks guiltily at my stack of Isaac Asimov books from my first trip there*

ETA: And this is why I restrict myself to that place one trip per semester. ;) Spent $14.23 in one go. Of course, it was $14.23 for, er, six books, one of which on its own would've cost me $24 brand-new.

I found you two books, [livejournal.com profile] blue_raven!

Eastern Europe in the Soviet Shadow by Harry Shwartz
Eastern Europe A to Z by Robert S. Kane

And then for myself I got:

I never saw another butterfly (Children's Drawings and Poems from Terezin Concentration Camp, 1942-1944)
The Postman by David Brin
Sweet Valley High #1: Double Love by Francine Pascal (And yes, I know we were just talking about how much this series sucked, Ange, but it was $1 and I fail at life)
The Music of the Spheres by Elizabeth Redfern

I'm not into politics. Honestly, I didn't know who my representative was until I sent my letter to him. *waves at Frank Wolf of Virginia* I don't know if he's a Democrat or Republican -- I suspect Republican, which means my letter will most likely be ignored. Still, I will get off my ass when something needs to be addressed, and letting the US government know that DADT is bullshit is something that needs to be done.

Send a Letter To Your Representative

...Of course, if DADT does get repealed, it will spawn a never-ending deluge of McShep "How They Outed Themselves After DADT Was Repealed" and whatnot, but hey, I can always ignore those as long as our soldiers are given the right to be proud of their orientation, not ashamed of it.

So my dear f-list, if you feel DADT should be repealed (and methinks most of you do), go and send a letter. It'll take five minutes of your time and who knows it might actually get the representatives to realize that why yes, DADT is bull. :)
