ARGH, MAKE HER STOP, MAKE HER STOP.

I am going out with Nick, the son of one of my co-workers, tomorrow after work, to see OotP since he's new to the county and has no one to go see it with. He also likes anime and is a year or two older than I am.

I made the mistake of mentioning this to my mother, and she keeps calling it a date.

NO. NOT A DATE. I FAIL WITH THE FLIRTING AND THE TALKING TO GUYS. DATES = CERTAIN FAILURE AND DOOM.

MAKE HER STOP. She is seriously freaking me out. Argh. *makes sad noises*

And what if Lisa (my co-worker) is trying to set us up? SHIT. PLEASE SAY NO, BECAUSE I AM AN IDIOT WHEN IT COMES TO GUYS. SERIOUSLY. THERE IS A REASON I HAVE NEVER BEEN ON A DATE IN MY LIFE, PEOPLE.

Hon, it's not a date; you're going to the movies with a friend. Just relax and enjoy the movie; there's no need to talk while the movie is playing and it's a looooong movie.

Yes, yes, am better now, really. *takes deep breath* Was just one of those, "Oh crap, my mom's already imagining a wedding and me making babies, and oh crap, she doesn't get that it's just me being nice to this poor guy who's new to the area and doesn't have friends to go to the movie with, oh god, she's going to make this so awkward" moments.

But am better. Really. Just going to go and enjoy the movie. Neville! :)

your mom is just wishing you would go on a date. don't worry when you don't go all gooey eyes for the guy she'll get over it. just enjoy the movie and ignore your mom. you are doing a favor, no big deal.

and if lisa is trying to set you up then don't worry about it because if nothing happens then it doesn't matter that she tried

and don't worry talking to guys and flirting thing will come naturally... you just need self confidence and practice.
