Red vs Blue: S17:E5 - The Not-So-Good Ol’ Days

I’m a First member, but I’m going to be posting my reactions a week behind to avoid spoilers. So here are my thoughts on the fifth episode of the season after a second rewatch!

• I love this episode so much. So much!
• NINER GETS A NAME. NINER GETS A NAME!!! Ash is such a good name for her, and I loved that bit where she and Wash actually care about each other. They are kind of the last ones left at that point. God, please make her a regular somehow, show. PLEASE.
• Poor Wash. He can never keep a vehicle intact.
• Oh Wyoming. “This is not at all going the way I thought it would.” Also him being shocked over the idea of Carolina being alive.
• “What is this, high school?” Also I love York’s “Carolina and I are just work associates! Who said we were dating? Maybe you’re dating her huh? Check and mate!” fluster. They’re all so dumb.
• South is mean and I love her. And that grenade joke was so funny.
• I love mean Carolina. “She is so much meaner than I remember.” Cue Wash just trying to talk to everyone, with zero results, until the TRIPLETS give him a clue. I love the Triplets so much.
• “Is this how Donut feels all the time?”
• Carolina re-enlisting in the UNSC breaks my heart. She was so alone. Surrounded by people she couldn’t trust and who she couldn’t rely on (she can run circles around them and none of them are a match against Freelancer), friendless and angry. Ugh. My heart hurts.
• Someone in chat suggested McAllister is Allison’s maiden name and that’s what I’m taking as a personal head-canon because I love it.
• And Wash using Carolina’s “I didn’t feel like anyone was in my corner” to talk to her, and bringing Delta with her. Carolina’s heartbroken voice when she asks where York is, and her voice when she asks why Wash seems so different.
• And Carolina trusts him. All those memories of them working together with the Reds and Blues are influencing her, and it’s so good.
• And time for Carolina and Wash to reunite with the Reds and Blues!

I LOVE ALL THE MEAN LADIES IN THIS SHOW. ♥ Make Niner a regular, RT, WE FUCKING DARE YOU, it's not like you don't love working with Lee Eddy apparently so BRING NINER BACK FOR FOREVER!

I still want to give Carolina EVERY HUG. ALL OF THE HUGS. This was suuuuuuch a good episode, oh man. ;o;

EVERY SINGLE SECOND OF SOUTH AS THE FREELANCER BULLY WAS THE BEST. Still laughing over her grenade joke. And yes, please, show, give us Niner.

Ugh, I love Carolina so much. Have you seen the latest episode yet? I HAVE A LOT OF FEELINGS.

That was such a terrible joke, it finally did me in, I definitely love South with no conflicted feelings. XD
