...this one may need context. Pretty much over the course of Les Mis fandom there has been a long-running joke of various characters having animal friends -- Courfeyrac with Carl the pug, Javert's face squirrels, Valjean and his guinea pig (although it is canon that Valjean interacts with guinea pigs, so...) -- and this is my contribution to the joke, haha, because

a) I love cats and
b) the idea of a cat latching onto Fauchelevent when he's not a cat person is hilarious to me.
