May. 29th, 2010 11:30 pmYes, I am alive! I just...have been super busy with work. You see, about a month and a half ago, maybe two, I am bad at time stuff, one of our pharmacy cashiers quit. She wasn't replaced, so that meant the one other cashier and I were working six days a week every week.
The technician who would work our hours for our days off? Yeah, he left to join the army this week, and wasn't replaced either. So guess who's working seven days this week? Yep, that'd be me. Luckily, I've been told we're getting a third cashier the week after this, so fingers crossed, because I really would like a day off every now and then!
In other news, I have been working on my
lgbtfest fic, which is due June 9th. (I had been planning on finishing it on my day off this week. Oh silly, silly me.) It's "A Christmas Carol" fic about Jacob Marley. And half of you are probably boggling, but it is so much fun to write! Victorian style descriptions, plus based on my Yuletide stories, I like challenging myself with book fandoms and their distinct writing styles.
Here's a snippet!
Jacob Marley grew into his greed the way most young men grew into their clothes-- the avarice sat awkwardly upon him at first, and then gradually grew to fit so well that he could not have imagined anything half so comfortable.
