Otakon! And Sherlock Holmes.
Jul. 29th, 2010 11:14 amSo, I am off to Otakon and won't be back until Sunday afternoon. I hope you all have a great weekend! When I return, I promise I'll be more talkative, heh. I have just been feeling under the weather a lot lately, and work has been killing my brain.
However! I, er, watched BBC's new Sherlock, which is pretty much an alternate universe fic made into a TV show. It is so good, you guys! I love the Holmes/Watson dynamic and want so much fic! ...And yet the two fics I have started writing are both gen fics focused on secondary characters. *hands* I don't know, my brain is weird.
Excerpts:
First Impressions (Molly Hooper, Inspector Lestrade, and Mrs. Hudson gen)
Summary: Three first impressions of one Sherlock Holmes.
Sherlock Holmes’s first words to Molly Hooper are these: “I need a corpse.”
She doesn’t know he’s Sherlock Holmes then, of course. Instead she thinks he’s a madman who’s burst into her autopsy room.
“Excuse me?” she says a trifle weakly, eyeing the door and wondering if she should make a break for it. He’s between her and the exit, though, and she doesn’t like her chances. She folds her arms against her chest and stares at him instead.
His expression twitches at that, and Molly watches his brow furrow, his eyes narrow in thought. She can’t help but notice that for a madman, he’s fairly gorgeous. It’s a pity he’s a headcase.
I Adore My Own Lost Being (Harry Watson gen)
Summary: Harry drinks for a half-dozen reasons. Contrary to what John may think, shame isn’t one of them.
Harry’s longest bout with sobriety lasts exactly three months and two days.
