Today our principal had the brilliant idea of having everyone vote in their homerooms, giving only the option of Bush or Kerry. Since I'm actually voting in the election, I refused to raise my hand. One of the girls in my homeroom stared at me and asked why I hadn't voted. When I told her I felt it was my right to privacy, she started bitching me out.

Cassie? I'm sorry for wanting to keep my opinion quiet. I apologize for believing in my right to privacy. Obviously just because I'm old enough to vote on November 2nd, and feel that one of the essential rights that makes America America is the right to privacy when it comes to voting, I should have realized that "the election was a joke" and shouldn't have taken it seriously. Sorry if I don't have a sense of humor.

But you know what?

You'll never fucking know if I voted for Kerry or Bush or even threw my vote away on Nader since Virginia has never voted anything but Republican in the last 25 years. And even if I'm eighteen and legally an adult, I just want to say one thing:

Nah-nah.

How's that for a sense of humor?
