I watched the first season of Supernatural (and okay, that? was an evil, evil cliffhanger-- or would have been, if someone's sucky lack of a lj-cut hadn't spoiled me for season two a while back-- but still, excellent cliffhanger there).

Supernatural-- okay, it's a decent show, and I do like Sam and Dean. I just don't see what makes it so popular. It seems like a very formulaic show. Still, I adore the mythology the writers use (Zoroastrianism won my heart, seriously), and that's enough for me to get S2 at some point, once it's on sale.

At the same time, I find myself wishing there was a strong female character that isn't just in a single episode and then vanishes off the face of the earth. I really liked Sarah (Sara?), Cassie, and the one female cop from "The Benders." I wish one of them had gotten to stick around. And a bit more diversity to the show.

Speaking of which, are there any good gen S1 or Sam/Jessi, Sam/Sarah, or Dean/Cassie fics out there?

*laughs* Yeah I kind of get what you mean about Supernatural being a bit... formulaic.... its kind of the same thing over again. I mean I watched some of the first season... have the DVD's of course but still haven't watched it through. But I did watch some of it on TV... and stopped watching it cause it kind of go repeatative. Then they started the whole storyarc with Sam and the whole psychic powers and I squeals and started watching it again. So yeah... that part saved it for me.

*blinks* you want a strong girl? *dies* Your roommmate is turning you feminist... *laughs* I kind of like the show cause it doesn't have girls... One of the reasons I didn't care too much for Buffy was cause there were too many girls... I like Supernatural cause yeah main characters are guys. But yeah that's just me... ^^;; Hope that computer problem got fixed, btw.

I want a strong girl if just because it'd be different, seeing as all the girls are either dead, dying, or evil!

...If not a strong girl, I'd take a guy who's not pasty white. Another hunter who's Hispanic or African-American or, oooh, an Asian-American hunter would be awesome. Everyone was white. Where was a hot black man for Ellie? ^^;
