Yes! Bruce Coville's third book in "The Unicorn Chronicles" is coming out in 2008!

Bruce Coville is one of my favorite childhood writers -- he wrote the "My Teacher is an Alien" and "Rod Albright Alien Adventures" series, which first got me into sci-fi, as well as "The Magic Shop Books."

I know he's been working hard on the third book of the series for years now, and it's very exciting to see that he's finished it. The third book, Dark Whispers will be coming out in July of 2008. I can't wait. :)

The third book? Good gawd, I remember the wait for the second. Still, it'll be nice to rediscover a YA series you already know will be good.

I know! It was a six, seven year wait for the second one. But Tamora Pierce told me he's been stuck on The Last Hunt for years now. It looks like he finally figured out that hey, he's actually writing TWO books instead of the final book in a trilogy, so he's finished Dark Whispers and is working on finishing the actual The Last Hunt.

*grins* But yes, it will be nice to rediscover that series again.

Oh, wow, I definitely remember those books. That was a crazy long time ago! "The Magic Shop Books" were some of my faves. :)

Now you've got me all nostalgic. Did you ever read T.A. Barron's "Merlin" series? Wow, good times.

Jeremy Thatcher, Dragon Hunter! I loved that book.

And no, I didn't read the "Merlin" series. I'm guessing I missed out on good stuff?

*stares at your icon* Pretty.

[livejournal.com profile] winterfish, man. I think she actually made this set of icons around the [livejournal.com profile] sg_flyboys challenge.

Jeremy Thatcher! Oh, man! I mean, yeah, I remembered them, but now I remember them! The dragon was named Tiamat! That was like ten years ago -- how do I even know that anymore?!

Yay, flyboys! I attempted a Sheppard/Mitchell for [livejournal.com profile] gateverse_remux and sort of failed, and now am trying to write a Sheppard/Mitchell fic only it's bleak and angsty and they don't even like each other, really.

I reread it over the summer. All the Medieval Literature I had to read for class had melted my brain and it was nice to read some of my childhood favorites. But damn, good memory. I wouldn't have remembered the dragon's name. :)

...Jeremy Thatcher, Dragon Hatcher. Dragon Hunter would've made for a very, very different book. *shifty eyes*
