Give me the names of two characters and I will tell you why character A loves character B. I might answer with a drabble, a quick bit of meta, or a list.
At first, Chuck exasperated him, what with his seemingly constant snacks near the consoles and further, his protests of innocence when he was obviously guilty. Still, Radek hadn't disliked the man.
Besides, Chuck's protests were almost...endearing, in that they were far more pleasant and not at all vitriolic, unlike arguments Radek had with a certain other Canadian. Chuck's wide eyes and earnest expression sometimes almost convinced Radek that perhaps he truly wasn't the crumb-leaving culprit.
It was that wide-eyed earnestness that made Radek accept Chuck's initial invitation to watch a hockey game one night, although to this day Radek had no clue how that one night ended up being a sequence of many, until that day when Radek found himself trapped on the Peter Pan planet, wondering what had happened to Atlantis, if everyone was in danger, if Chuck was in danger.
It was at that point that his epiphany hit him like a ton of bricks, an epiphany which involved a long, thoughtful look at that those odd thoughts contemplating the length of Chuck's eyelashes and self-conscious smile that was often on his lips which sometimes flickered through his mind, the way he looked at Chuck sometimes for what was far longer than strictly necessary. The realization that perhaps he'd become a bit more attached to Chuck than he'd realized left him dizzy and almost nauseous, because Radek did not need some, some ridiculous crush on someone who probably didn't feel the same way.
It took almost three months and many mental tirades at himself for being a fool before he noticed that Chuck looked back.
(Aw, it doesn't have to be slash. It could be-- er, hm, Banana Fish! Ash and Eiji! *laughs*)
Wilson wouldn't call it love, precisely. More like temporary insanity that somehow managed to stretch beyond temporary to something more permanent.
A deep-rooted fascination with the bizarre has plagued Wilson since childhood and House is the embodiment of the bizarre, the unexpected. Half the fun (less so, as time goes by and consequences get grimmer and grimmer) is seeing what crazy thing House will do or say next.
There is just something about House that draws Wilson to him, like a moth to the flame, and over the years Wilson has given up attempting to define their relationship, just smiled and ignored people's raised eyebrows and murmured innuendo.
