Family Album question and a wedding

I was watching Danielle Steel's Family Album (I know, I know, but Mom and I watch her movies to mock all the rich family drama, plus this one had Joe Flanigan as a charmingly gay boy and the guy who plays Leo from Charmed), and I totally missed when Lionel's boyfriend, John, got dead. What the hell happened? My mom dragged me out of the room for FIFTEEN minutes and I come back to Lionel screaming and John being dead, and all of sudden this random guy named Paul being there. Can anyone explain what happened? *pouts*

In other news, I went to the wedding of the daughter of one of my mom's school friends. It was-- interesting. I had a glass of champagne since I'm legal now, but, uh, it gave me a headache so I'm thinking no alcohol for Ace. The flower girl cried all the way down the aisle, and the father of the bride looked ready to bolt, but the bride and groom were as happy as could be, which was nice. I got sunburned though.

And now I am apparently being dragged to watch "The King and I" with my mom and one of her other school friends. *shakes head*

Lionel and boyfriend got to parents beach house for Easter. Reconciliation with homophobic dad at long last! All is happy, butterflies and sunshine!

Lionel and boyfriend leave to drive home. Cliff roads. A UPS truck runs into them - head on crash, boyfriend dies. ANGST!!!
