Okay, question about banks and checks

cinaedMy mom and I know nothing about the rules of checks. Okay, my mom needs to give $3,000 to the workers tomorrow before they leave. She's signed the back of a $2,000 check from my grandmother and written a check out for cash for $1,000. Tomorrow I'm supposed to go in and get the money from the bank.
My question is: all she needs to do is sign the back of the check from my grandmother, right? She doesn't need to put her account number on the back, right? And even though I'm not her, as long as I have the checks and whatnot, they'll give me the money, right?
The bank's a BB&T, if that matters.
*sighs* I hate not knowing what the hell I'm doing.
