cinaed: This fic was supposed to be short (Never Forget You (Radek/Rodney))

Because doing this is essentially giving me a kick in the ass to complete them. *grins* And I would like to shake my head at myself now, because I'm brand-new to SGA and still I have like...half a dozen McKay/Zelenka stories in my head.

If you happen to be working on some creative writing project, post one sentence (or more) from each of your current work(s) in progress in your journal. It should probably be your favorite or most intriguing sentence so far, but what you choose is entirely your discretion. Mention the title (and genre)if you like, but don't mention anything else -- this is merely to whet the general appetite for your forthcoming work(s).

(CSI) What You Do To Me -- (Greg/David) sequel to Unsaid Words, final part of the trilogy

His interactions with David have been…strange, to say the least. Sometimes, it is as though Greg’s epiphany never happened, and their caustic banter flows quick and easy. Other times, David’s twisted, hurt expression is all Greg can think about, and he stammers his way through a short, uncomfortable conversation with the other man. Luckily, the latter doesn’t happen too often, and Greg cannot help but be exceedingly grateful for that.

(SGA) Till Human Voices Wake Us -- (McKay/Zelenka)

“I still do not see why you could not do this yourself, McKay,” Radek complains into his radio, shining his flashlight down the hall and ignoring the sergeant walking next to him who is obviously fighting back an amused grin. “But I think I understand. There is an abandoned Ancient outpost giving off strange energy readings, half-submerged in a lake, and you need someone to investigate. You see it is damp and smelly, and think, oh, Radek can do this job. He likes the damp and the smell.”

“Beckett said I couldn’t get my cast wet, Radek.” Despite his words, Radek can hear the smirk in Rodney’s voice, and if the other man had been in view, he would have been on the receiving end of a very dirty look.

(SGA) I Understood the Rest Too Well -- (McKay/Undecided, either Zelenka or Beckett)

Beckett mutters something John doesn’t quite catch, but the exasperation coloring the mutter is clear. “I’ll be there as quick as I can. How bad is the injury?”

“Looks pretty deep, but McKay’s waving it around so I can’t get a good look at it.” In fact, the accusing finger that McKay is pointing at Yarrow is looking to become a fist any second now, and John sighs before he shoots a look at Weir and walks over. “McKay, didn’t your mother teach you it was rude to point?”

McKay shoots him a dirty look at that. “Didn’t your mother teach you it was rude to interrupt people?” he retorts, and then abruptly grimaces.

(CSI) Flowers of Catholicon -- (AU, David/Greg, Nick/Bobby, Sara/Grissom)

General Hodges snorts. “Unless he’s not willing to risk his neck for Clarcadia, Colonel.”

He should probably control his temper, but Greg glares at the general anyway and snaps, “What part of ‘I want to be a soldier’ didn’t you get? If this is a way to help Clarcadia, then I’ll do it.”

General Hodges just stares at him for a moment, and there is a hint of disbelief and derision in his bright blue gaze that makes Greg’s hackles rise. “You’re not soldier material, Sanders,” he says, and Greg resists the urge to do something suicidal like punch him in the face.

(SGA) Seven Children Rodney Never Had -- (McKay/OCs, McKay/Carter, McKay/Katie Brown)

Fiona is all soft curves, with a mouth firmly fixed in a pout, luminous green eyes the same shade as jade, and ringlets of gold that Rodney’s fingers itch to touch. Even the bruises still fading around her left eye from her dramatic break-up with Seth doesn’t detract from her beauty.

The actual sex is quick and messy, filled with mostly petting and necking, and Rodney comes too soon, but Fiona just smiles, all teeth, when he begins to apologize, and says, “Don’t worry about it.” She even gives him a pat on the shoulder, and he stares a bit wistfully after her as she saunters from the classroom, watching the doorway long after her sashaying hips have disappeared from view.

(SGA) Some Level of Hell -- (McKay/Zelenka)

“You!” The word was bellowed, and John turned, blinking, as Zelenka stormed towards him. The Czech’s face was flushed, his hair sticking up every which way, and his eyes glittered madly. In fact, he sort of reminded John of the senile cat that his mom had had during his childhood, which attacked anything that even looked at it.

John blinked, and then glanced down the near-empty hallway to confirm that yes, he seemed to be the focus of Zelenka’s death-glare. “Uh.” He glanced over at Teyla, who simply shrugged, looking equally bemused.

“You!” Zelenka shouted again and prodded John hard in the chest with a finger. It didn’t actually hurt. After all, Zelenka was pretty scrawny. The Czech’s eyes narrowed to slits, and when he spoke, the words flew fast and harsh, barely discernable through his ever-thickening accent.

(CSI) Gordian Knot - Chapter Four: Those Years, They Haunt Me Still -- (Greg/David)

He paused to grimace. LA was a period of his life he had wanted to forget, and for the most part it had become his past, memories only creeping out in particularly maudlin moments. The only part of LA that he’d wanted to remember were the times that involved Abby, really, but now it seemed like he was going to have to remember everything.

“Seeing as that was part of the kidnappers’ demands, yes, I’m going to LA,” he said, keeping his tone purposely matter-of-fact. “Grissom said that he and a group of CSIs are going too, so that means….” It meant his past was going to rear its ugly head and bite him in the ass, that’s what it meant. Though perhaps, afterwards, Grissom would write him a recommendation (Grissom didn’t seem the type to care about the reasons David had left LA) and he could try for a job on the East Coast. Give Abby a few white Christmases, put LA and Las Vegas behind him for good….

(SGA) The Dark Spaces You Fear -- (McKay/Zelenka)

It was obvious something had gone wrong on the mission to M7Y-388 as soon as Sheppard’s team stepped back through the gate. Oh, there was no blood, no rumpled clothes, nothing that immediately screamed ‘there’s been trouble.’ They weren’t even overdue. However, all four of them were ashen and their expressions grim.

(SGA) The Moon Comes Around -- (McKay/Zelenka)

He sighs and knocks on the bathroom door. “Rodney! I need to speak to you.”

The response is slow in coming, and Radek is just beginning to suspect that Rodney has fallen asleep in the shower when Rodney snaps, voice strained, “I’m a little busy!”

“Yes, yes, lots of mud, so I heard,” Radek says, and cannot help the dismissive tone, “but I have been studying the energy outputs and I think I have found a mistake.”

(SGA) The Punishment of Tiresias -- (McKay/Zelenka, Cadman/Beckett)

Rodney isn’t often tempted to hit women. Now, that is probably because most of the women he spends time with could snap him like a twig -- Teyla -- or has the power to ship him back to Siberia -- Weir -- but still, Rodney rarely finds himself wanting to strike a woman, Chaya being an exception to the rule.

It seems Cadman is an exception to the rule as well, because his arm is halfway raised before Teyla’s firm hand on his shoulder stills the motion. He is aware that he is taking in short, shallow breaths, and is probably on the verge of another ‘manly collapse’ but he can’t bring himself to care as he snaps, “She’s pregnant, you imbecile.”

Rodney cannot help the bitter satisfaction that wells up as the smirk slides off Cadman’s face and is replaced by a horrified look, just as he cannot help the mirthless chuckle that escapes his lips at her dumbstruck, “Oh my God, I got her pregnant!”

(SGA) Voices Drowned in Tears - Part Two -- (AU, Sheppard/McKay, Weir/Zelenka)

“Shut up,” Koyla says matter-of-factly, and when the fool’s finger twitches on the trigger, sighs and squints. He really hates having to use his power, especially on insignificants like this man, but some things have to be done for the good of the Genii.

The fool’s broken his wrist recently, and oh, there, if Koyla looks closely enough, there’s a slipped disc…. It’s easy, pitifully so, really, to reach into the man’s body and twist -- a moment later the gun clatters on the ground and the man is on the ground, face ashen and a harsh wail tumbling past his lips.

(SGA) You Are Ice and Fire -- (McKay/Zelenka)

Radek rolls his eyes and taps the watch on his wrist. “It has in fact only been twenty minutes since Carson gave me the therapy, Rodney. Not even time will bend to your will, much as you would like it to.”

“Well, if we still had that ship that Janus built--” Rodney begins, tone slightly wistful, and Radek snorts.

“If we still had that ship, Doctor Weir would not let you play with it. Especially not to jump forward four hours to see if the gene took.”

Til Human Voices Wake Us and Some Level of Hell are my two favorites out of this list of yours.

All the McKay/Zelenka looks good though. And your McKay and children fic.

I'm having way too much fun with the dialogue in Til Human Voices Wake Us, and, well, tormenting Sheppard is fun too. *grins*

My McKay and children story is crack. Absolute crack. ...but oddly adorable.

And as soon as I'm done with this week of hell (three midterms and a paper), I will try and get some of these fics finished. *grins* Glad I managed to make them sound interesting.

*shifty eyes* It's all Zelenka's fault, really.... And I will finish that damn trilogy. Honestly. I'll work on it this weekend, when I don't have Geology and Mythology midterms to study for, lol.
