What's the story that makes you happiest? this bullet lodged in my chest, covered with your name
My favorite stories this year: this bullet lodged in my chest, covered with your name and The Head That Wears a Crown
Most popular story: this bullet lodged in my chest, covered with your name
Story most underappreciated by the universe, in my opinion: The Head That Wears a Crown
Most fun story: From the Void Abyss by Myriads Came (Crowley and Aziraphale IN SPACE!)
Sexiest story: Probably a tie between this bullet lodged in my chest and The Head That Wears a Crown
Story with single sexiest moment: this bullet lodged in my chest
Story with single sweetest moment: Hm, I am not sure. Natasha and James aren't...sweet...so I'll probably go with My love is building a magic
Hardest story to write: Mutating the Labyrinth, mostly because it demanded to be in first person and I rarely write that POV
Easiest story to write: Where There Is Great Love
Truest story of the year: this bullet lodged in my chest
Story that made you cry/saddest story: A tie between this bullet lodged in my chest and Mutating the Labyrinth, though they both end on hopeful notes
"Holy crap, that's wrong even for you" story: ...yeah, this bullet lodged in my chest -- mind control, assassinations, torture? Not my usual type of story
Story that shifted my own perceptions of the characters: this bullet lodged in my chest
Biggest disappointment: Mutating the Labyrinth-- I think the first person POV threw people off a bit, but that's honestly the way the story demanded to be written.
Biggest surprise: The popularity of this bullet lodged in my chest! I didn't realize James/Natasha was so popular in Marvel fandom.
Favorite opening line: One of her clearest memories was her first kill. - this bullet lodged in my chest, covered in your name
Favorite closing line: Audrey laughs, feeling free for the first time in weeks. She spreads her arms, watches the ground rushing towards her, and waits for Diana to catch her. - The Head That Wears a Crown
Favorite line from anywhere: Natalia snorted. “Unless your name is Alexei Nikolaevich, I don’t see how your name could be dangerous.” - this bullet lodged in my chest, covered with your name
Favorite title: this bullet lodged in my chest, covered with your name
Looking back, did you write more stories than you thought you would this year, fewer than you thought, or about what you predicted? Far fewer than expected! But then, grad school was extremely intense this year and so I had nowhere near as much time to write as I usually do. I am honestly surprised I wrote as much as I did.
What pairing/genre/fandom did you write that you would never have predicted in January 2011? James/Natasha and Marvel fandom. I wasn't into comics or even Marvel fandom at that point (I had barely even begun to dabble in the DCAU), so telling me I would write a 26,000 word story about Soviet brainwashed assassins in love would have been very surprising to me.
Did you take any writing risks this year? What did you learn from them? this bullet lodged in my chest! I had never written anything quite like that, and it was great to know I can pull off different genre types.
What story do you want to have written? Well, since I have a bunch of WIPs, I would want to have written aka finished either this bullet lodged in my chest sequel or the Avengers/MIB crossover where Coulson gets to be awesome.
Story I want remembered: this bullet lodged in my chest, covered with your name
What's next for 2013: Finishing my WIPs! I have a number of Avengers fic and a big Les Miz modern AU I'm working on.
