Crossover/AUs shouldn't be this easy
Dec. 28th, 2006 04:33 amHas anyone else read "The Enchanted Forest Chronicles" by Patricia C. Wrede? Okay, maybe it's just me.
So...I reread the first three of the series, and would finish the final book if it wasn't 4 AM and my vision wasn't blurring. And the entire time I kept going, "So, SGA...." *hangs head*
Seriously though.
Cimorene -- level-headed, clever, very unusual princess who does things her own way, such as volunteering to be a dragon's princess to escape an arranged marriage to an empty-headed prince; is patient, even with very, very, very stupid people, and has a cool head in tense situations; she is now known as the King's (King of Dragons) Cook and Librarian (So Elizabeth, being a dragon's librarian sounds kinda cool...shame about having to put up with the empty-headed princesses and the idiotic princes and knights who keep trying to 'rescue' you)
Mendanbar -- the King of the Enchanted Forest, who thinks he can handle everything himself and tries to pull heroic stunts that get those around him exasperated at his total lack of self-preservation; seems to have an odd fear of princesses because every single matchmaking queen is after him to marry their daughter, and he doesn't want to wind up with an empty-headed, manipulative wench for a wife; uses his magical sword with far too much enthusiasm (...Hi, Sheppard, so about those heroic gestures...)
Telemain -- a magician who is the best of his kind, often gets sidetracked in his need to know everything right this instant; gets irritated when someone questions his competence, and particularly pissy if someone proves to have stronger magic than he does; he also uses scientific words that no one else understands except for Morwen (Oh, Rodney, it's okay, you don't have to be the best of the best...plus Sheppard's so cheating with the magical sword of his)
Morwen -- quiet, intelligent witch who is always bailing everyone else out of trouble, being mostly nice about people's mistakes; has nine cats and is extremely protective of them, even when they break her glasses and are rude to guests; is the only one who understands Telemain's technobabble and constantly fights with him, trying to get him to simplify his explanations so that Mendanbar and Cimorene can understand him (Aw, Radek, here's some aspirin for your headaches that are caused by Rodney and the cats)
...Um, right. It's 4:30, so I should, uh, get to bed... *sidles away before my brain thinks of other Enchanted Forest characters to match up with SGA characters*
