1. Pick 25 of your favorite movies.
2. Then pick one of your favorite quote/s from each movie.
3. Post the quotes in your journal.
4. Have those on your friends list to guess what the movie is.
5. Either strike out the quote once it has been correctly identified, or place the guesser's user name directly after the quote.

(Updated as of July 29th -- Only 5 left unsolved, lol)

1. That's the thing you learn about [him] - his unfailing ability to destroy the things he loves. (Solved by [livejournal.com profile] firebubbles310 and [livejournal.com profile] schlicky)

2. I don't want to die. And your men don't want to die, and these people certainly don't want to to die. It's a shame you're in such a hurry to.

3. I think we've all arrived at a very special place. Spiritually, ecumenically, grammatically. I want you to know that I was rooting for you. Know that. (Solved by [livejournal.com profile] marang and [livejournal.com profile] firebubbles310)

Thank goodness for that. I was worried.

8. You'll see when you move out it just sort of happens one day one day and it's just gone. And you can never get it back. It's like you get homesick for a place that doesn't exist. I mean it's like this rite of passage, you know. You won't have this feeling again until you create a new idea of home for yourself, you know, for you kids, for the family you start, it's like a cycle or something. I miss the idea of it. Maybe that's all family really is. A group of people who miss the same imaginary place.(Solved by [livejournal.com profile] justsilver and [livejournal.com profile] schlicky)

9. Is there any risk of brain damage?
Well, technically speaking, the operation is brain damage, but on a par with a night of heavy drinking. Nothing you'll miss. (Solved by [livejournal.com profile] justsilver and [livejournal.com profile] schlicky)

[identity profile] leentigress.livejournal.com 2006-05-12 07:12 pm (UTC)(link)
P.S. Dammit, I knew 3 but I had to google it, so I can't use it.

[identity profile] cinaed.livejournal.com 2006-05-16 08:07 pm (UTC)(link)
*giggles* Don't feel bad. Less people got that one than you'd think.

[identity profile] marang.livejournal.com 2006-05-12 10:27 pm (UTC)(link)
3. Pirates of the Carribean
4. Rent!
17. Fiddler on the Roof
23. Shrek?

[identity profile] cinaed.livejournal.com 2006-05-16 08:09 pm (UTC)(link)
Another Fiddler on the Roof fan! *grins* And no, it's not Shrek, but that is a line that would fit in Shrek, isn't it? The other guesses are dead-on though. *pauses to worship Rent*

[identity profile] agentfroot.livejournal.com 2006-05-13 03:35 am (UTC)(link)
4. Rent
6. The Princess Bride
10. Saved
24. Aladdin

I think people already guessed those. Those people have good taste in movies. As do you.

[identity profile] cinaed.livejournal.com 2006-05-16 08:10 pm (UTC)(link)
And you have great taste too. *grins* I think /everyone/ should see Saved! ...and Rent...and pretty much all the movies I've listed. *shifty eyes*

[identity profile] firebubbles310.livejournal.com 2006-05-14 03:02 am (UTC)(link)

17. Fiddler on the Roof *laughs*
18. Wizard of Oz??? it's been awhile since i have seen it... that was the scarecrow or lion right?
23. mulan *laughs hystercally* how many times did we watch that this year? we can quote the whole movie.

[identity profile] cinaed.livejournal.com 2006-05-16 08:13 pm (UTC)(link)
Hush, don't tell people I bought an entire movie for one line! *shifty eyes* I mean...of course I didn't buy King Kong for one line. I bought it for the wonderful scenes. There was no girlish squeals of "Preston/Carl subtext!" when I bought it on Amazon....

.... *hangs head*

Anyways, I didn't realize how many movies we've watched/talked about together until now. *laughs* And you need to come and watch SG-1 Seasons 1 and 2 with me!

...By the way, if you get A & E, watch Crossing Jordan on the weeknights at 11 PM.... I *will* get you addicted, mwahahaha....and then you can read all the lovely Bug/Nigel slash I have stored away.

[identity profile] schlicky.livejournal.com 2006-05-16 12:30 am (UTC)(link)
1. Maybe King Kong. I think.
3. Pirates of the Carribean
4. Rent
6. The Princess Bride
8. Garden State
9. Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
10. Saved
13. The Producers
21. The Lion King
23. Mulan
24. Aladdin

Some of them have already been answered. But I thought I'd answer them anyway.

[identity profile] cinaed.livejournal.com 2006-05-16 08:15 pm (UTC)(link)
You have awesome taste in movies. *grins* And you are also the only one to figure out The Producers quote, so hats off to you. And yeppers, that's a King Kong quote. Based an entire fanfic off that quote. *shifty eyes* Anyways...hope you're doing well, hon. ^_^

[identity profile] schlicky.livejournal.com 2006-05-17 02:52 am (UTC)(link)
Thanks love. You do too. *grins* I loved The Producers, and I've just realized that it came out on DVD. Makes me very sad that I have no money.

I'm adding #19... Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory.

I've been trying to think of that one since I read it, and I finally remembered. Silly me.

I'm doing fantastic! Hope all's well with you! xoxo

[identity profile] schlicky.livejournal.com 2006-05-17 02:56 am (UTC)(link)
And 18. The Wizard of Oz! I can't believe I couldn't think of it when I read it the first time. *facepalm*

[identity profile] shadowhuntress.livejournal.com 2006-05-20 01:16 am (UTC)(link)
Ooo, can I participate? Of the unsolved ones:

12. Some Like It Hot.
Such a classic! Because, as you know, nobody's perfect. ;-)
20. The Hunchback of Notre Dame
HoND, along with Hercules, are seriously two of the most underrated Disney films, IMHO.

[identity profile] cinaed.livejournal.com 2006-05-21 10:21 pm (UTC)(link)
*giggles* Some Like It Hot is a total classic. I adore it. And HoND has some of the best music ever.... I just like to ignore the whole "pretty people must get together" part. *grins* But yes, Hercules and HoND are very underappreciated.

[identity profile] pawnbroker.livejournal.com 2006-06-18 12:42 am (UTC)(link)
I'm thinking number 25 is The Neverending Story, which was our "monthly movie" ever month for my first 4 years of elementary school. ^^

[identity profile] cinaed.livejournal.com 2006-07-29 12:36 pm (UTC)(link)
Wow, I never responded to this. *hangs head* But yes, you are indeed correct. It's The Never Ending Story.
