Dear Brain

Dear Brain,

When I am already late and so not done with my Radek ficathon, why do you insist on thinking nonstop about Radek/Teyla/Rodney where Teyla is badass and sexy and knows what she wants? ...And Rodney/Radek/Ronon where Rodney's greedy and sort of, well, annoys them into having sex with him? ...And Sam/Radek/Rodney where they're all awesome and sort of insane?

As hot as the images are, I need to finish this fic. You know the one. It was due yesterday. Please to be putting the porn on hold in my head until I am finished with the ficathon entry.

Still love you even though you're being really, really ADD,
Ace

Rodney dropped the device and stared at Radek, his stomach tightened. Oh, for the love of god, he thought.

Radek picked up the device. "What is it?" he asked.

"Dangerous," Rodney replied quickly. He closed his eyes, but the images, sensations would not go away.

Radek chuckled as Teyla pushed Rodney off the bed. "What did you do that for?" Rodney asked.

"Is your own fault," Radek said, almost laughing. He mimicked Rodney, "What do you mean today is important?"

Rodney glared. "It was an honest question."

Teyla settled back against her pillows. "I was born upon this day," she said and Rodney's mouth dropped open.

"Rodney?" Radek placed the device back onto the table. "Are you all right?"

"Fine," Rodney replied, his voice slightly strangled.

"McKay." Ronon sounded bored.

"Just one. more-- second. Yes." The crystals slid neatly into place and the column lit up.

"Done?"

"Yes, I'm done. You didn't have to come, you know. Lorne's team is good."

Ronon shrugged. "You and Zelenka were both going. I didn't know you'd spend all your time in this cave."

"What did you thi-- oh." Rodney's mouth dropped open. Ronon now stood in front of him. "Right." Ronon's mouth was hot and tasted like the spicy potato cakes they'd served at the feast earlier that day.

"I did not realize this would be a pleasure trip," Radek commented from the cave entrance. Rodney pulled away, grinning.

"Neither did I. Ronon was just changing my mind."

"You know, we have beds here. Big. Soft. Better for backs than the cave floor."

"He has a point," Rodney said. Ronon smiled.

"Bed it is."

This was utterly insane. Radek had crossed the room now, his brow furrowed with concern. "I'm okay. Really."

They'd been in the lab for going on five hours and still had nothing to show for their time except for bad tempers and a broken coffee pot. The other, sane scientists had fled and so it was just him, Radek, and Sam.

Sam squeezed another equation onto the white board. "You're not looking at the big picture."

"Explosions," Radek insisted, ripping the marker from Sam's hand. They'd passed the point of politeness around the same time Sam had 'accidentally' broken the coffee pot, spilling the last of all the coffee in all of Atlantis on the floor. Radek added a long line of scribbles to Sam's.

"Point to Radek," Rodney said. "He knows how to avoid explosions. That still does not mean your insane combination will work. We'd get it into space and nothing."

"You do not know that, McKay."

"We're getting nowhere," Sam sighed.

"You're just now noticing?" Rodney asked dryly.

"We need a change in tactics. A way to bring all three approaches together."

"Yes, yes, you keep saying that." Radek pushed back his hair and sat down. From all sides usesless equations mocked them.

"Er..."

"You have an idea, Rodney?" Sam asked, tired.

"Yes, well, back in high school, we always talked about the balkovsky exercise-- it was kinda the holy grail of theater exercises and strictly forbidden."

"I have heard of that," Radek said just as Sam asked, "You did theater?"

"Yes, I did theater. Some of us are multi-talented."

Radek rolled his eyes. "What is involved?" Rodney's mouth tightened and he flushed slightly.

Sam shook her head. "I know that look. Something to do with nakedness, Rodney?

"Yes. Well. I wa--"

"What say you, Radek?" Sam asked. "Willing to get naked for the cause?"

Radek laughed and Rodney's mouth dropped open in surprise. Radek shrugged. "We've tried everything else."

"You mean you'll do it?" Rodney asked, dumbfounded.

"We can use my room," Radek said to Sam, both studiously ignoring Rodney.

"I have a better mattress," Rodney interrupted, recovering.

Sam and Radek shared a glance and Radek asked, "Rodney, are you sure?"

"Hell, yes." Sam rolled her eyes and gestured to the door.

"Lead the way, Rodney."

"Right. Of course. This way. I'm not dreaming, am I?"

Radek laughed. "No, Rodney. You aren't."

Rodney opened his eyes and there was Radek-- close and concerned and Rodney kissed him.

"What?" Radek asked, his voice muffled by Rodney's mouth. Rodney pulled back.

"Very dangerous device. Makes you want things you can't have."

Radek glanced at the device and then back to Rodney, his face carefully blank. "Who ever said you couldn't?" he asked.

Rodney's mouth dropped open.
