And now that reveals are up, I can tell you what npt fic I wrote! It was pretty fun to write (I always enjoy throwing historical jokes into a fic), although I mostly despaired at capturing Joe and Methos's voices because they're...very complex characters. But so far the reaction's been positive, so I'm glad people like it!

Summary:

After Amy leaves, the events of the day catch up with Joe. Methos offers to help.

“I’ll send you a postcard when I settle in,” Methos said, and Joe tore his gaze away from the bottle long enough to shoot him an unimpressed look. Methos smiled back, that half-taunting turn of his lips that meant he knew Joe was annoyed and was amused by it. He dragged his finger across his chest and said, mock-solemn, “Cross my heart.”

Joe snorted. “Cross your heart and hope to die? Yeah, right. Pick another way to promise, Methos--” He started to get up. The day’s exertions chose that second to kick him in the ass; agony coursed through his back like someone had taken a knife to his spine. He dropped back into his chair. Even that movement sent another wave of pain through him. “Jesus.”

So, over the past month I have watched pretty much the entirety of Highlander (based on suggestions, I skipped most of the final season). I went into it literally knowing that there are apparently immortals and two dudes named Duncan and Methos and that was it.

I really enjoyed it! My main OTPs ended being everyone/living and everyone/everyone, essentially, but I also ended up with a definite fondness for Methos/Joe, Methos/Alexa, Joe/Duncan, Amanda/all the ladies, Richie/someone non-homicidal and who hasn't slept with Duncan or Methos, and Duncan/Amanda as friends with benefits. Plus I want all the Darius fic. ALL OF IT.

I did a few reaction posts on Tumblr to the hilarity of friends, and figured I would get them all on here, haha. I will skip my original reaction posts, since they tend to be, "...when does this Joe guy show up? And Methos? Is this mysterious old friend Methos?" until my friends took pity on me and explained that Methos's first ep is titled..."Methos." (A+ titling, guys.)
